Who reviews
Every piece of medical content on Zappy is reviewed by Michel Choueiri, MD, our Medical Director, whose focus is metabolic health, hormone therapy, and evidence-based weight care. See the full profile.
What we review
- Product pages. Every treatment we offer has a dedicated page covering what it does, who it's for, dosing, and side-effect profile. Reviewed before publication and re-reviewed quarterly.
- Ingredient deep-dives. Mechanism, evidence, dosing, side effects, and drug interactions. Reviewed before publication.
- Comparison pages. Side-by-side comparisons of treatments and routes. Reviewed before publication; verdict statements re-reviewed when new trial data becomes available.
- Learn articles. Guides and tactical answers. These are the pages that carry the visible "Medically reviewed by" byline and a "Last reviewed" date.
How sourcing works
Claims about clinical outcomes — average weight loss percentages, side-effect frequencies, mechanism details — are sourced from peer-reviewed trial publications. We name the trial (e.g. STEP 1, SURMOUNT-1, SELECT) directly in the body of the relevant page, and link the primary source in a References section, so members can verify every claim themselves.
When we update
Pages are re-reviewed:
- When new FDA labeling changes (within 30 days)
- When new pivotal trial data publishes (within 60 days)
- On a routine quarterly cadence regardless of news
The "Last reviewed" date on each page reflects the most recent of these. The current sitewide review date is May 17, 2026.
What we don't do
We don't write content that promises specific outcomes for individuals. Medicine isn't a guaranteed-outcome business; we describe the population-level data and the mechanism, and let clinicians make the case-by-case calls inside the visit.
