Coenzyme / NAD precursor

Glutathione

The body's primary intracellular antioxidant — a tripeptide essential for detoxification, immune function, and skin pigmentation regulation.

Category: Peptides & longevity Used in: Glutathione

How it works

Glutathione (GSH) neutralizes reactive oxygen species, supports phase II liver detoxification, and inhibits tyrosinase (the enzyme that drives melanin synthesis). Levels fall with age, illness, and oxidative stress.

The evidence

Strong biochemical role; intravenous and injectable use is supported by small clinical studies in skin lightening, oxidative-stress conditions, and adjunct use in fatty liver. Oral bioavailability is poor — liposomal or injectable forms preferred.

Typical dosing

Injection: 600–1200 mg IM or subcutaneous, 1–2× weekly. Cycles typically 8–12 weeks.
